NEWSLETTER June 2023

May and June have come and gone. Our events of the “Ethnic Food Fair”, the “Lawn Program” and  “Sankt Hans” went off smoothly. There were many volunteers (ty, ty, ty) and  we also had a nice barbecue at O & N’s mountain cabin as well as a nice visit from the Danish lacrosse team “The Fighting Pastries” yea! The team also joined us at Sankt Hans bonfire at mission bay. Really nice. Sankt Hans link

The International cottages’ food fair was all you could expect with wonderful entertainment by all participating cottages and all of the different dishes from so many houses. It was very good and many visitors came by. The House of Denmark made and served a ton of aebleskiver, kringle, and an array of cakes, plus soft drinks and coffee and water. food fair link

The other event for May was a member treat of BBQ at Oda’s mountain cabin and what a enjoyable relaxing day it was. (Big ol’ “THANK YOU” for that.)

The House of Denmark hosted the Lawn Program in the International Village Sunday, June 18th, from 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with entertainment from 2:00 till about 3:30. There was music and story telling, as well as visiting Vikings and Lego creations – something for all ages. Read more in the recent events section. lawn program link

The house of Denmark invited the Danish Lacrosse team for lunch and had a fine Mexican meal. Visit the recent past events page for more on that plus photos of the flag parade. Link to Danish Lacross event

And last but not ????? Many came and joined us at East Mission Bay beach on Saturday, June 25th at 4:30 p.m. for a picnic, bonfire and to send off the witch to Bloksbjerg. We all enjoyed the day on the beach. The Lacrosse team from Denmark joined us and many members and friends. Again check out the Link to page on the website.

So now a little break and we’ll get back to you with future events coming soon.

Thanks to all the people that chipped in and helped (really!!) and as always the house is open every Saturday and Sunday. Please do volunteer and if you haven’t hosted the cottage you’ll not be alone, someone will show you the (easy, peasy) ropes.
